Surprise. Surprise. Well, not really. Arkansas forward Michael Washington’s huge back-to-back games has earned him the SEC Player of the Week honor, it was announced this morning by the SEC office.

Washington scored a career-high 34 points against North Texas in North Little Rock on Saturday to follow-up his Herculean performance against then-No. 4 Oklahoma last Tuesday.

Washington averaged 29 points and 11 rebounds, and hit 81.5 percent of his shots and 14-of-19 free throws last week against the Sooners and Mean Green.

Here’s more from the SEC office:

He scored seven straight Arkansas points to give the Razorbacks an 88-71 lead with 1:33 remaining and finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds while connecting on 10 of his 12 field goal attempts (against Oklahoma).  Against North Texas, he established a new career mark with 34 points while making 12-of-15 field goals.

This is Washington’s second SEC Player of the Week award this season. He earned his first after scoring 30 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in the Hogs’ season-opening, overtime win over Southeastern Louisiana.

He’s had seven double-doubles this season, the most since Derek Hood’s 18 in a season back in 1999.

Every aspect of life in America today is worse than it was when President Obama took over. Unemployment higher. Interest rates. The only thing that has gone down in America over the last two years is the value of your home. This president has mismanaged this economy. He has been incompetent in his management of this economy, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)

It was to be expected.  He was a beast this past week; especially if you consider all the hype going into the OK game about him and Griffin.  I think he showed that he can play with the big boys
