I am guessing that me and Losthawg will be the only ones on this  board attending the Spring Nationals in Houston Texas this weekend. Anybody else ever attended a live National event?

Not the modern NHRA.  Not sure who was sanctioning things back when I went to several events in the late '70s through the mid-80s.  Think guys like Bob Glidden.

My dad took me to one when I was a kid.  That's one of the first things that got me hooked on motorsport.  Still to this day, that's the second loudest experience of my life.  The only one that can top that as far as decibels go, the Casino Straight at the Canadian Grand Prix.  I literally thought my ears were bleeding they hurt so bad.  surprised  I've used ear plugs at every event since then.

Drag racing to me is still one of the purest forms of sport.  No bullsh!t.  Shut up and drive.   Cool
